Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF) has donated 300 motorcycles for the AEON Rider Project to create employment for those who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, at the same time contributing to the economic growth. This launching was officiated by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Economic Affairs Arthur Joseph Kurup together with Aeon Retail CEO Shafie Shamsuddin. This project had received support from numerous companies and had successfully raised a total of RM1.45 million for this RIDER project.
In this project, the selected riders were given an employment contracts with a basic salary of RM1,200 for one year, with additional fees for deliveries. If the riders deliver a satisfactory performance in the first year, they will be given ownership of the motorcycles. The AEON Rider project and delivery will cover areas like Penang, Klang Valley and Perak.
